Professor Phil Holmes has been appointed as the chair in financial risk management in the accounting and finance division of Leeds University Business School. He was previously professor of finance at Durham University.
Professor Holmes’ areas of research expertise include applied analysis of derivatives, behavioural finance and corporate financial decisions. He is currently working on research into momentum trading and expectations, institutional herding behaviour and the role of information in explaining returns to mergers and acquisitions.
He has published widely in journals of international standing, and is one of the founding editors of the Review of Behavioral Finance.
