Professor Krishna Paudyal has been appointed as a new chair of
finance in Leeds University Business School, and joins us from
Durham University. His areas of expertise are corporate financial
decisions, security investments, and market microstructure.
Before moving into academia in 1993, Professor Paudyal worked for the Nepal Rastra Bank, where he was actively involved in foreign exchange and monetary policy decisions. He has published extensively in journals such as the Journal of Banking and Finance and the Journal of Financial Research.
Professor Marion Hetherington has been appointed to the chair
of biopsychology in the Institute of Psychological Sciences, after
leaving Glasgow Caledonian University.
An expert in human eating behaviour, she is carrying out research into early determinants of appetite regulation and food preferences in children, with a particular interest in preventing obesity. Professor Hetherington is president-elect of the Society for the Study of Ingestive Behavior and an elected member of the Association for the Study of Obesity.
