Art and gardening
Yourland gallery imageLeeds fine art academics are taking the alliances between art and gardening to new levels at Leeds city art gallery. Lecturer Emma Rushton has filled an entire gallery with her collaborative work Yourland (pictured) – a ‘garden for Leeds’. People are invited to donate a favourite plant or flower, in exchange for a book of recipes collected by the artists. For more information on Emma Rushton's work see her website.

Senior lecturer Christopher Taylor is co-creator of Base Camp which turns a simple garden shed into a forum for artistic activity. The gallery will be covered with wallpaper designed by the artists and everyone can add their own contributions. For more information on Chris Taylor's work see his website.

Yourland appears until May 1 and Base Camp until April 17. For more information see the Leeds city art gallery website.
