| Vice-Chancellor
Sir Alan Wilson is to be awarded the Laureat
d'Honneur of the International Geographical
Union for ‘outstanding service in the
work of the IGU or in international geography
and environmental research'.
The
Vice-Chancellor has also been awarded the
2004 European Prize in Regional Science by
the European Regional Science Association
for outstanding scholarship and contribution
to the field of regional science and the association.
Dr
Josephine Green of the mother and infant research
unit has been honoured with the Society for
Reproductive and Infant Psychology award for
2004.
Ms
Susan Hamer of the school of healthcare studies
has been made a fellow of the Queen’s
Nursing Institute.
Professor
Rachel Killick of the department of French
has been awarded the Ordre des francophones
d’Amérique for her leading role
in the diffusion of American French.
Professors
Peter Simons of philosophy and Ian Wood of
history have been awarded British Academy
research readerships for 2004-2006.
