Winning prizes

Professor Stuart Lane has been awarded a 2002 Philip Leverhulme prize. The prizes, worth £50,000, are awarded in recognition of research achievement by outstanding young scholars. Professor Lane, of geography, is internationally recognised as one of the leading researchers of his generation within the field of geomorphological and numerical modelling of complex river systems. He is best known for his work on analytical photogrammetry and computational fluid dynamics. He is currently engaged in research looking at flooding and flood management in the UK.
