Counting costs

An online staff costs calculator developed at the University is to go live to the HE sector in December, integrated with the research councils’ electronic grant application system. Siriusweb is quick and easy to use to cost new appointments, work out the admin element in funding applications or help prepare annual budgets. It calculates the full employment costs, with categories, scales and grades specific to each institution. After a month’s free trial, institutions will pay a small subscription. The HEFCE-funded project, led by Andrew Busby of the academic support unit, will be non-profit making.
