Practice prize

Jon Silcock is to receive a Royal Pharmaceutical Society practice research award for 2002, worth £10,000. Jon Silcock, a clinical pharmacist in the school of healthcare studies, received the Galen award for a project on patients’ attitudes towards, and beliefs about, self-management of chronic congestive heart failure. He will use the award to explore patient-related barriers to the self-management of mild to moderate heart failure. Jon Silcock is employed jointly by the University and Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
