Book aid

The University is joining the city council in a book appeal for schools in Durban, South Africa, following a delegation to Leeds’ twin city, where staff and students visited local schools. Up to a third of South African young people are HIV positive, so the book appeal is to be run on World Aids Day, 1 December. A ‘book squad’ of staff and students will collect books in the LS6 area and there will be drop-off points on campus. Departments can donate books during December.
