News in brief
Heading for a prize

A Leeds team of academics and medics who treat children with serious head injuries has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award. The paediatric neuro-rehabilitation team, led by Professor Deborah Murdoch-Eaton, provides a co-ordinated approach to caring for children with serious head injuries, encouraging joint working between families, health, education and social services professionals.

Between 60 and 70 children a year are admitted to hospital in Leeds with a head injury.

The team is one of three in the running for the award in paediatric care awarded by Doctor and Hospital Doctor magazines. The winner will be announced on November 1.
