Taking a larger share

Leeds Innovations has put more than advice into Leeds/UMIST spin-off Industrial Tomography Systems (ITS) by acquiring shares in the company.

Founded by Professor Brian Hoyle in electronic and electrical engineering, Dr Mi Wang and Professor Richard Williams in mining and mineral engineering, ITS provides specialist tomographic measuring tools to process industries.

The acquisition will allow more intellectual property from Leeds, UMIST and Exeter universities to be commercialised. Professor Williams said: "It is always encouraging to see academic work in engineering being made more widely accessible in demand to industrial users, The new share ownership by Leeds is very welcome."
