new counselling service, Confidential Care, has been launched
for all University staff and immediate family members.
The free service part of the 'rewarding and developing
staff' initiative is available 24 hours a day,
365 days a year via a freephone number. The service is
counsellors are professionally trained to discuss any
issues of concern, though, where appropriate, they can
refer staff to other services, including specialist legal
or financial advice or up to five sessions of face-to-face
counselling, all free of charge.
University will monitor take-up and effectiveness of the
service to see if further support might be offered to
staff on specific issues, but will not be told who accesses
the service or why.

part of the charity The Westminster Pastoral Foundation

will continue to offer long-term help and support to staff
