Self-help on CD-ROM

A new CD to help treat bulimia patients has been designed by psychologists from the Universities of Leeds and Glasgow, with support from Leeds Innovations.

'Overcoming bulimia' is a self-help programme, designed to help sufferers  examine their beliefs about their illness, re-establish a regular eating pattern and change how they deal with everyday problems.

Recently featured on Radio 4's All in the mind programme, the CD provides patients with one-to-one therapy. Patients take an active role in their recovery, working through the CD's eight sessions.

The CD is part of a range of self-help and training products on mental health disorders developed by the Calipso team. For more information, see or contact Stephen Taylor-Parker at Leeds Innovations on ext 33444.
