A credit to SDDU

The teaching qualification run by the SDDU has received official accreditation from the Institute for Learning and Teaching. Anyone obtaining the postgraduate certificate in learning and teaching in higher education will now automatically be eligible for ILT membership.

Among the programme's strengths, the assessors noted the wide-ranging teaching and learning expertise within the course team and their enthusiasm and concern to support participants. The accreditation report also praised the course for helping new staff integrate into the University's culture.

The flexibility offered to participants in terms of how and when they take part in the programme, and the close and highly individualised monitoring of a participant's progression, were also key features in the accreditation.

According to recent figures, the University is the second highest recruiter to the ILT in the country, with 205 members.
