Chemical taster

A free taster course leading to a full distance learning degree, is being offered to people working in the printing and packaging industries. 'Foundation skills to IMPRESS', run by colour chemistry, teaches study skills, IT and communication, basic chemistry of materials and mathematics for the workplace.

Students gain 20 credits towards the unique IMPRESS degree programme, set up in 2000 to enable those working in the industry to retain their jobs, and improve their career prospects through study at a higher level. The free taster course begins on March 11, and involves three one-day residentials at the department.
