outspoken commentator on human rights, Professor Conor
Gearty of Kings College, London, will be lecturing on
the Human Rights Act at the University next week.
Gearty, also a colleague of Cherie Booth QC at Matrix
chambers and author of several books on the subject, will
discuss: "How far should the judges go under the Human
Rights Act? Is the Act a green light to play havoc with
the law or are there constraints that should control
the judges' conduct?"
lecture will be held at on Wednesday 6 February at 1pm
in law seminar room 1, on the first floor of the main
