Matrix lecture

An outspoken commentator on human rights, Professor Conor Gearty of Kings College, London, will be lecturing on the Human Rights Act at the University next week.

Professor Gearty, also a colleague of Cherie Booth QC at Matrix chambers and author of several books on the subject, will discuss: "How far should the judges go under the Human Rights Act? Is the Act a green light to play havoc with the law – or are there constraints that should control the judges' conduct?"

The lecture will be held at on Wednesday 6 February at 1pm in law seminar room 1, on the first floor of the main law building, Lyddon Terrace. All are welcome. For more information contact Professor Colin Harvey,, tel 0113 233 5029.
