University of Leeds has collaborated with the British
Library and other UK universities to develop a free online
searchable archive of 23,000 government documents dating
from 1688 to 1995. The University's strong official publications
collections made it the ideal candidate as project co-ordinator
for the north of England.
database is designed to save researchers valuable time
by enabling them to search and browse for relevant documents,
read abstracts, find the nearest location of relevant
documents or read a digitised full-text version.
using keywords or subject headings, the database covers
all areas of government activity including health, economic
policy, religion, education, social issues and the environment.
