Professor
Neil Ward has been appointed to a chair of human geography.
He was previously senior lecturer in geography at the
University of Newcastle. Professor Ward's research covers
rural agricultural geography, policy making in Britain
and Europe, governance and devolution, environmental management
and regulation and the machinery of government.
Professor
Clive Adams has taken a chair of adult psychiatry, having
previously been an honorary consultant in general adult
psychiatry at the University of Oxford. Professor Adams
coordinates the Cochrane Schizophrenia Group and the focus
of his research is the evaluation of care for people with
schizophrenia.
