Anne Shaughnessy

Anne Shaughnessy died on 17 April 2001

Anne Shaughnessy, from the school of Continuing Education died suddenly on 17 April 2001. Anne had worked in the library at the school for the last thirteen years, and was well-known to colleagues as the University branch secretary of NALGO between 1989 and 1993. Anne will be missed by her colleagues in the school, and by all the part-time students she helped, during their afternoon and evening visits to the school. For many, she was the only ‘official’ they ever met at the University. We often received comments on her good humour and helpfulness in evaluation forms, and she helped project a positive welcome to the University’s less visible tutors and students.

We will miss her very much in the School, and pass on our sympathy and best wishes to her husband, Mark Shipway, who works in special collections, and to her family.

Miriam Zukas

The school will be holding a memorial event on 9 June 2001 at 2pm and all are welcome. Please ring Dorren Dalgleish on 3221 if you wish to attend.
