Genetics explained

A video aimed at educating lay audiences about genetic engineering has been produced by biology professor David Cove. The film, Genetic Engineering Dreams and Nightmares, is based on his book of the same name and presents essential information in an easily understandable form to help viewers with no specialised scientific knowledge take an informed part in the current debate on the issue. The 37-minute programme is not intended to be an exercise in propaganda and has been welcomed as a major contribution to the debate on genetic engineering.

The video has been produced in conjunction with UMS Leeds University Television, with support from the Genetical Society and the UK Life Sciences Committee.
