web presence doubles
new website at www.leeds.ac.uk
is now live and on-line, running alongside a new internally
focused site, Campusweb, at campus.leeds.ac.uk
site is aimed primarily at external audiences, such as
prospective students and staff, business and industry
partners, investors and collaborators, and will serve
as a key marketing tool. Campusweb – which many will already
have set as their home page – should act as the main information
source for current staff and students.
is the culmination of an effort by many groups and individuals
mainly from the press, publications and projects offices,
the departmental support unit and ISS.
editor Vanessa Bridge said: "We have received many
comments from staff and students, praising the new ‘professional’
design, and offering constructive criticism. A website
for a large institution such as the University needs to
incorporate and make easily available a huge amount of
detailed information; the work to maintain and update
this will be ongoing."
for Communications and IT Professor David Hogg said: "The
internet is a dynamic medium, and we now have a site upon
which we can build, to create a web presence which truly
reflects Leeds’ position as a top UK university."
