Images of the human body are being projected around the University as part of a project by final year Fine Art students. The series of three slides, collectively titled Veins, can be seen from the Parkinson steps throughout the night. The projections, depicting the cardiovascular system, were designed by aire (space), a group of 19 students working towards their graduation show.
The idea came from Catherine Ford who said: "I focused on the cardiovascular system in an attempt to reconcile visible veins with medical diagrams. Slides of cardiovascular structures were projected onto live bodies, the marks on the body were then coloured in. The projections matched the veins on the skinís surface."
