Olive oil is no healthier than cheap cooking oil, according to Professor John Blundell, of the Department of Psychology, one of the authors of a new study published in The Lancet. It claims that olive oil has a higher saturated fat content than most other vegetable oils and so is not the best for preventing heart disease, and can cause weight gain if consumed in large quantities.
