The White Rose Technology Seedcorn Fund (WRTSF) has made its largest investment to date in University of Leeds spin-off company Enabled Systems Ltd.
The investment of £250,000 is the maximum allowable under fund rules, and underlines expectations in the companyís success.
Enabled Systemsí expertise lies in the field of product data management which provides solutions to help cut the time and cost of bringing new products to the market.
Enabled Systems managing director Doug Brady said: "This investment gives us a real opportunity to further the application of existing open technologies to companies who havenít realised the huge potential benefits."
The WRTSF assists the commercialisation of technology developed at the universities of Leeds, Sheffield and York.
