Women in the Community was the issue of debate at a day-long forum at the University on 7 December. Hosted by the Centre for Interdisciplinary Gender Studies and the Canadian High Commission, the forum raised questions about the work of women in the community in both this country and Canada. One of the main speakers was Professor Ruth Pearson from the Centre for Development Studies, who discussed the ways in which women’s activism has changed both in the UK and internationally.
