Senate gave its approval by an overwhelming majority to detailed proposals for merger with Bretton Hall. These will now go to the Universitry’s Council on December 14.
The merger is conditional upon HEFCE’s agreement to specific terms regarding financial arrangements, staffing, student numbers and the Bretton estate. HEFCE has agreed in principle that the College would be handed over unencumbered.
Detailed terms are now being agreed in writing with HEFCE officials before Council meets. HEFCE’s Council will decide on Bretton’s future at its meeting of December 15.
