Consultations have begun between the human resources department and heads of resource centres throughout the University to assess needs for clerical and administrative support and how they are currently being met.
Matthew Knight, director of human resources, said the review was prompted by the University’s financial position but was not aimed at meeting an overall target, as each resource centre had different needs and approaches.
"These discussions will identify whether there might be better ways of deploying support staff and reorganising work more efficiently," he said. "The review will also aim to ensure that work is organised in such a way as to provide as much job progression and enrichment as possible."
