Textile and clothing companies in Yorkshire and Humberside can log on to the commercial potential of the Internet with free assistance from the School of Textile Industries, in a joint project with the Confederation of British Wool Textiles. The Textile and Clothing Network (Texclo), offers free support, training and guidance to the sector’s small businesses on topics such as website development and other IT applications.
The network website, www.texclo.net, is expanding as an information resource, a promotional tool and a communication forum for companies in the sector. Texclo is also running a series of free seminars on the business benefits of connecting to the Internet.
The project was backed by the European regional development fund, as part of the regional innovation strategy.
