Consultants called in

An independent consultancy, London Economics, has been appointed to advise the Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Principals on its review of the future funding needs of the UKs higher education system. The CVCP funding options review group, which has started work under chairman Sir William Taylor, has asked the consultants to help draw up a review of funding mechanisms and tuition fees in comparable countries, particularly Australia.

London Economics briefed the Dearing Committee on the costing of the higher education models it considered.
