Survival training

September sees the launch of a new postgraduate certificate course from the School of Continuing Education, aimed at professionals and volunteers working with adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. The course tutor is psychotherapist Sue Richardson, a trainer, consultant and author who has worked as an expert witness in the field.

Participants will spend about 130 hours of study in each of two modules, one on understanding adult survivors and the other on responding to their needs. Each module will be assessed on a 6,000-word written submission. The course will be run at the University’s adult education centre on Harrow Road, Middlesbrough.

Further information on the course is available from the continuing education website: www.leeds.ac.uk/aed/cehome/macefram.htm
