The University’s student counselling service annual report for 1998-99 notes that since it opened just four years ago, the number of students using it has risen by one-third. Individual and group counselling hours totalled 3,756 during the year.
Senior counsellor Nigel Humphrys was the main author of the CVCP’s recently-published guidelines for universities on best practice in dealing with the mental health needs of students.
