The Universityís recurrent grant for 2000/01 from the Higher Education Funding Council for England is to be £84.3m - an increase of £2.7m on the current sessionís figure.
Although the increase is £1m more than anticipated, it represents a decrease in real terms of about one percent. The largest single element in the rise is £1.388m in teaching funds for additional student numbers, along with £600,000 due to the re-banding of German and Spanish and £200,000 to widen access for students with disabilities.
