Researchers whose work shows commercial potential can access details of the £6m White Rose Technology Seedcorn Fund via the Universityís website. The fund was created by the universities of Leeds, Sheffield and York with financial backing from the Government, the Wellcome Trust and the Gatsby Foundation, to provide venture capital of between £5,000 and £0.25m for promising spin-offs.
White Rose can provide expertise in planning and strategic input from experienced business people as non-executive directors. Investment management group Murray Johnstone advises the fund on proposals and monitors progress.
