Leeds is retaining its position as the UK's most popular university, according to the latest application figures published by UCAS.
Over 39,500 students had applied to study at the University up to mid-December, over 2,000 more than the second place institution.
Leeds also has the largest share of home students' applications: attracting five of every 200 school leavers. Applications from international students are up by 11 per cent compared with the previous year.
