Psychology researchers are scouring London for people addicted to drugs, gambling and even sex - to help them kick their habits with forgiveness.
The £120,000 project aims to help people release anger and bitterness through a series of fortnightly sessions teaching them how to forgive.
"We hope to see whether forgiveness can help people heal from the cancer of bitterness," said Dr Ken Hart, who is co-ordinating the project with Professor David Shapiro.
"Bitterness has so many negative knock-on effects which need to be lessened," said Dr Hart.
