The man responsible for the production of the report of South Africa’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission visited the University last month, at the invitation of the theology and religious studies department.
Under the title, South Africa in Transition: Learning to Live Together with Bad Memories, Professor Charles Villa-Vicencio argued that, although undoubtedly flawed, the TRC has performed the vital service of bringing the truth about apartheid to light.
