Work on the proposed merger with Bretton Hall is progressing, with a ‘due diligence’ exercise expected to be completed by Christmas. Discussions are also taking place with the HEFCE and the Teacher Training Agency with the aim of meeting all conditions laid down by Senate and Council. A final decision on the merger will be taken next April; the merger itself is timetabled for August 2001.
Bretton activities are being co-ordinated by Helen Clapham, one of a new team of project managers recruited to provide specialist skills to support strategic development of the University.
Ms Clapham is advising departments and others affected across the campus to ensure that the critical timetable is maintained. She will also be involved in integrating systems and reorganising key areas if the merger goes ahead.
Helen Clapham can be contacted on ext 4845 (email@example.com)
