Simon Dixon has been appointed to a Chair of Modern History in the School of History with effect from October 1. Professor Dixon was previously Head of the Modern Area in the Department of History at the University of Glasgow.
His major research interests include Imperial Russia, particularly the Orthodox Church, and the nature of rulership.
Michael Morgan has been appointed to a Chair of Food Biochemistry in the Procter Department of Food Science with effect from October 1. Professor Morgan was previously a senior principal scientist at the Institute of Food Research, Norwich. His major research interests include the interaction of antibodies with food components, particularly in relation to diet, health, food safety and food allergies.
Peter Tomlinson has been appointed to a Chair of Pedagogy and Professional Learning in the School of Education with effect from August 1. Professor Tomlinson was previously a reader in the school.
His major research interests focus on psychological aspects of teaching and training at both school and adult professional levels.
