The University is to play an active role in shaping the future development of Leeds through a city- wide action plan.
The University is one of over a dozen partners in 'Vision for Leeds' - a blueprint for the future economic, social and technological growth of the city based on sustainable development. The plan sets out well over a hundred commitments and targets spanning all areas of life in Leeds including transport, education and the environment.
"The Vision for Leeds establishes a symbiotic relationship between the universities as major importers of professional skills, and Leeds as a thriving city in the knowledge economy," said University Vice-Chancellor Professor Alan Wilson.
