The children's centre's Jan Whitehouse has been honoured with the 'President's Award' for excellence in supervisory management, by the Institute of Management. Mrs Whitehouse recently completed an NVQ Level III in supervisory management and will now also become a member of the Institute.
Jackie Hill, a lecturer in the School of Medicine, has been awarded the 1998-99 Arthritis Research Campaign Prize in Rheumatology for allied health care professionals. Ms Hill will be presented with a engraved medal and a cheque for £200 in June.
The RDInfo database of health research funding was judged the best publicly-accessible database for health related information at the HC99 conference.
