Victims of stroke paralysis have been supplied with a robotic helping hand by a team in the School of Mechanical Engineering. The intelligent robotic arm can provide automated physiotherapy and responds to the patients own movements. This prototype arm has been used with patients at St Marys Hospital, Armley and the team is now working on a version which will permit full arm movements.
