Robo-doc taking up arms to aid patients

Victims of stroke paralysis have been supplied with a robotic helping hand by a team in the School of Mechanical Engineering. The intelligent robotic arm can provide automated physiotherapy and responds to the patient’s own movements. This prototype arm has been used with patients at St Mary’s Hospital, Armley and the team is now working on a version which will permit full arm movements.
