Civil Engineering graduate Robert Partridge has won first prize in the RSA Student Engineering Design Awards for his design project for a new concert hall in Leeds. The Royal Society (for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce) has run student design awards in fields such as graphics, product design, fabrics and packaging but this is the first time engineering students have been invited to submit projects. Robert, a graduate of the Master of Engineering in Architectural Engineering course, was presented with his award and a cheque for £500 on 29 October. The Awards were run in close collaboration with the Royal Academy of Engineering, the Engineering Council and the Chartered Engineering Institutions.
