Virtual education

Ways of delivering ‘virtual’ courses to students, who will graduate without setting foot on a university campus, were explored at a joint conference with the Leeds-based charity HEfC last weekend. The University’s Teaching and Learning Support Unit is pioneering the use of the World Wide Web for student support and is at the forefront of development of the ‘virtual university’. The conference discussed educational aspects of distance learning, support for ‘on-line’ students and the opportunities for attracting new funding.
