Taylor takes Pro-Vice-Chancellorship

Professor Chris Taylor took up the office of Pro-Vice-Chancellor on 1 August. He joined the University as a Senior Engineer in the Industrial Unit of Tribology in 1968 and moved to the academic staff in 1971 in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He received his Personal Chair in 1990, served as Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering from 1992-1996 and became Dean of the Faculty of Engineering in 1996/97.

In his role as Pro-Vice-Chancellor he will have responsibility in the areas of IT, estates/facilities management, space issues, security, safety and central academic services. Chris Taylor will also be the link Pro-Vice-Chancellor for the Faculties of Earth and Environment and Engineering and the School of English.
