Bringing fossils to life

Students examine models of teeth-like fossils, the feeding apparatus of early vertebrates which lived about 450 million years ago at a recent meeting of the Palaeonto-logical Association held in the Earth Sciences Department. Research students discussed how molluscs survived in oxygen-starved seas in Yorkshire 300 million years ago and how now-fossilised crocodiles would have walked.
