Women and texts put under the spotlight

A major international conference, Women and Texts: Languages, Technologies and Communities, organised by the School of English and the departments of French, Sociology and Social Policy, is being held in Leeds from July 2 - 5. The conference will run alongside an arts festival with events taking place in the University Art Gallery, various University theatres and lecture halls, as well as at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, the Central Public Library, and several libraries and schools in the Leeds and Bradford area.

The conference's aim is to help women find ways of expressing what they value in their daily lives. Issues covered will include politics, publishing, art, theatre, performance, translation and language.
