The Yorkshire and Humberside Universities' Association, including the University of Leeds, has confirmed its commitment to the Government's objectives of lifelong learning, the University for Industry and improving the educational attainment of all. The universities aim to work enthusiastically with other partners in the region to make rapid progress towards these objectives.
The Association was formed in 1993 by the Vice-Chancellors of the region's universities to promote the contribution the universities make to growth and employment in the area and to extend their contribution. The universities are currently involved in a range of activities such as work-based learning, access routes for mature students and developing networks with further and higher education colleges.
