Dr Lynette Hunter, Reader in Rhetoric in the School of English has been appointed Gresham Professor of Rhetoric at Gresham College in London. This two-year appointment requires her to deliver two lectures a term at the College (itself first created some 400 years ago). She is the first woman to have been invited to give these lectures and follows in the footsteps of William Empson, Bonamy Dobree and John Wain amongst many others.
