A multidisciplinary design project on recycling used antifreeze has been enthusiastically received by visiting professors from the Royal Academy of Engineering. The scheme began in 1995 when the departments of Chemical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering and the School of Materials successfully bid for funding from the Royal Academy. Staff and two students from each engineering department were involved in the project, which investigated the feasibility of recovering used antifreeze.
