Britain's top university mooting team, based at the University's Law Department, is to represent the UK in the international final of the world's most prestigious law moot competition. The team of five second and third year LL.B students will compete against more than 85 countries in the Philip C Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in Washington, DC, from the 6th to 13th April.
In the qualifying national final, Leeds secured victory against the University of Strathclyde - winners of the UK championships five times in the last ten years. The Leeds team is now looking for sponsorship of around £10,000 to fund the trip to America.
