Kingston-bound

Professor Peter Scott is to become the next Vice-Chancellor of Kingston University.

Currently Pro-Vice-Chancellor for External Affairs and Director of the Centre for Policy Studies in Education at Leeds, Professor Scott will take up his new post in January 1998.

After a career in journalism and sixteen years as editor of the Times Higher Education Supplement, Professor Scott joined the University in 1992 and established the Centre for Policy Studies in Education.

Commenting on his new appointment, Professor Scott said: "It will be a great challenge and also a greatopportunity to take over from Bob Smith as Vice-Chancellor of Kingston University."
